DEADMAP and publisher HeroCraft PC have released the brutal 2D action game *Heart Abyss* on Steam, following five years of development. Set in a feudal Japan-inspired world of dark fantasy, the game features pixel-art visuals and plenty of graphic dismemberment.
Players take on the role of Leon, a half-human, half-fox warrior who escapes captivity to take revenge on the human Empire and search for his missing sister.
The launch was marred by serious technical issues, prompting the developers to release two hotfixes within the first 24 hours. Players reported softlocks in the mines, problems with key remapping, and critical bugs during combat. One ordinary enemy, the Hammerer, proved to be the biggest obstacle: a coding bug made it completely invincible, blocking progress beyond the opening area.
The team quickly acknowledged the issue in the first patch notes:

Along with fixing the invincible enemy, the developers restored the music that disappeared after leaving the Nightmare, fixed freezes during the fight with the overseer Kibishi Fukku, and resolved a bathhouse bug that could skip the story straight to Day 4.
